Interactions

They say that we alter the world around us, even without direct contact. Interesting thought that, and there is proof that this is true... on an atomic level at least.

Here is an example. Someone once did an experiment with light. They split a beam of light in two. One beam (beam A) went one way and another beam (beam B) went the another way. After the beams of light had travelled some distance from the point of seperation. The polarity of beam A was changed. Instantly the polarity of beam B changed as well.

How? How did the second beam now what was happening to the first beam when they were seperated by many miles. There should have been a time lag as the information traveled from beam A to beam B. Yes it would have been infintismally small but it should be there nonetheless
What this means is that every point in space-time contains information about every other point in space-time (much as I would like to take credit for it, this is thought is not my own).

This is best seen with a hologram. Take a hologram and cut it in two, you would think that you would then have two halves of the original hologram but you don't. What you do have is two complete holograms that are one-half the size of the original. You see, every point on the hologram contains information about every other point on the hologram.

Do you see what this means? It means that evrything that happens in the universe affects everything else. What you do right now, on an atomic level at least, has an affect on the other side of the world, I believe that is called the butterfly effect.

The butterfly effect is this; a butterfly in Japan flaps its wings and a huricane hits the east coast, or the stock market crashes. Basically it is saying that a very small event at one point in time has a much greater effect at a later time.

Explained another way. Two people on seperate rafts get into a river miles upstream. One of these people dip there hands in the water.And then miles down the river the two rafts have been seperated by miles. All because one person dipped his/her hand in the water.

Now... take this to the next logical step. If this happens in the space-time continuim & it has an affect on matter at a distance... then what about time. It is called the space-time continuim for a reason. If it happens in space then it must happen in time as well. If it can affect matter at a distance, then can it affect matter through time. Past as well as future.

Now I know that this seems crazy but it has been studied and verified to a certain degree. and this is not something that will have a major effect on day to day life, after all we are talking about the atomic level here. But it is an interesting thought nonetheless.
